Ping Pong in Castricum

Castricum, a dune-and-beach town on the Dutch coast, keeps its entire table tennis scene on a single street: Zeeweg, which hosts all five of the towns listed tables. Four of them are free public outdoor tables, while the fifth on the same street is a paid spot, giving visitors a mix depending on whether theyre after a quick free game or a slightly more formal setup. Given Zeewegs role as the road connecting Castricum to its coastline and dunes, these tables sit naturally along a route already busy with beachgoers and cyclists heading toward the sea. That makes a stop for table tennis an easy add-on to a day at the beach rather than a separate destination in its own right. As with the rest of the Netherlands, outdoor play here is best from spring through early autumn, when the coastal weather is at its most forgiving. Cyclists in particular tend to pass right by these tables on their way to or from the dunes, so its common to see a quick game squeezed in between a beach visit and the ride home.
